As a follow up to the recent virtual 2 mile time trial event which Andy Wilton organised it has been decided that the club will probably not be in a position to stage the Handicap series this year so as an informal alternative event, the decision has been made to organise a virtual 4 mile handicap event for club members, the first event will take take place in the week starting Sunday 24th May, details below;
1. Any 4 mile course measured by Garmin / Strava accepted.
2. Any previous Club Handicap Course accepted.
3. Runs to be completed in the time frame of 24th. May - 31st May
4. I will be setting each person's time prior to the event
5. Times to be submitted to Ron

An update with route suggestions - although as rule 1 any genuine 4 miles is OK
1, Cardiff Bay Route ( see jpg )
a, Starts at the lock entrance to the Roath Basin
b, Heads East ( clockwise, around basin ) until road approx. 0.5 miles.
c, Turn Right and run parallel to basin ( water should on your right )
d, Follow path back to Southern side of lock entrance.
e, Head along barrage towards Cafe Hafren ( 2 miles )
f. Turn right at Cafe onto lower path, stay on this path until it rejoins barrage road after the Skate plaza.
g, Return to start by running the route in reverse to finish by lock entrance.
2, Sophia Gardens
a, Start on Taff Trail behind Cricket Ground, choose a point roughly midway along the path.
b, Run North to Blackweir Bridge, cross bridge and then turn right towards the Millennium Bridge.
c, Cross bridge and turn right, run up to the Blackweir Bridge, repeat the lap.
d, With luck and depending on your Garmin, you should finish somewhere near the wall by Pontcanna Fields.
3. Bute Park
a, Start at the Southern end of the Blackweir playing fields, by the Nursery junction, ( where one path leads to the changing rooms ).
b, Run the Park Run course in reverse up to the underpass at Western Avenue.
c, Turn around at the underpass using the triangle of grass as turning point.
d. Run back to start using the Park Run course, finish is approx. 5 metres along path towards changing rooms.
